There is a famous teaching that floats around spiritual circles: “Use a thorn to remove a thorn, and then throw them both away.”
It sounds profound. It suggests that spiritual practices are temporary tools to fix a problem, and once the problem is solved, you discard the tool.
Some beliefs are thorns. A false belief is a thorn. The idea that you are only the ego is a thorn. You remove those and discard them.
But the Self Realization Mantra was never a thorn.
Before awakening, the Self Realization Mantra is a tool for spiritual attainment. You use it to orient yourself toward truth. You use it to cut through illusion. It helps you realize the true nature of the Self.
But once you realize who and what you are, you do not discard the mantra. It is not a temporary remedy for a temporary ailment. It is not a raft to be abandoned on the far shore.
The Self Realization Mantra is a tuning fork.
You do not throw away a tuning fork once you know the note. You use it to bring the instrument back to pitch.
After awakening, you use it for vibrational alignment. The body-mind is a living instrument. The Mantra brings it back into alignment. You don’t chant it because you are broken or lacking. You chant it because it is the sound of your own being, made audible.
I Am Thee Iself.
I Am Thee Allself.
I Am Thee Godself.
I Am Thee Noself.
I Am Thee Amness.
If you are still seeking, use it to become Self realized.
If you are Self realized, use it for vibrational alignment.
